We’re delighted to have recently been accredited as a Silver Carbon Literate Organisation by the UN-recognised Carbon Literacy Project. This accreditation recognises our commitment to upskill our team to play a proactive role in reducing our organisational carbon emissions, and work towards a zero-carbon future.

For the last couple of months, we’ve been very fortunate to have been loaned a book scanner from The Collections Trust. Using the scanner, we’ve digitised our accession registers, providing vital digital back-ups and enabling us to search them more easily. We also took the opportunity to digitise items from our collections, including Jack Halstead’s war diary, the Phillip’s Brewery Ledgers and part of our Whydale art collection.
Our upcoming events include:
• Museum Tots – Holidays: Wednesday 1st July
• Craft & Cava: Felted Landscapes with Michelle Martin: Friday 3rd July
• Spark! Art Club: Thursday 9th July
• Talk – A Moment In Time: Royston’s Glass Lantern Slides: Wednesday 15th July
• Plus, step into a world of fun and imagination at Playmakers this summer holiday! Enjoy hands-on activities and crafts throughout the Museum, from Thursday 30th July to Sunday 30th August, Thursdays to Sundays, 10am to 4pm. There’ll be new activities every week, so you can make the most of our holiday pass throughout the summer.
