Community News: A Glimpse Inside the Gardens of Burloes Hall

We were delighted to visit Burloes Hall on Newmarket Road, Royston, which recently opened its beautiful gardens as part of the National Garden Scheme (NGS), raising funds for nursing and health related charities.

The picture perfect gardens were truly breathtaking. Visitors had the opportunity to wander through the beautiful planting and impeccably maintained lawns, enjoying the gardens on a warm and wonderfully breezy late summer afternoon.

Inside the grand marquee, visitors could enjoy a traditional cup of tea and a slice of cake whilst taking in the stunning views, a quintessentially English afternoon at its very best.

We were also fortunate to speak with proprietor Francis Newman, who shared with us the fascinating history of Burloes Hall. The house and gardens have remained within the same family for generations, with the gardens having been designed and developed during the 1900s.

It was a privilege to experience such a special part of our local heritage and to see the community coming together to support such a worthwhile cause.
