As the nights draw in and the weather becomes more unsettled we are pleased to announce our Winter Reading Challenge for adults and children!
Running from 1st November until 31st January, we invite you to read individually or as a family ticking off various challenges along the way. If you succeed we will enter you in a prize draw for some exciting prizes! All you need to do is call in and pick up your entry forms.
We have a very unusual and interesting Winter Reads author evening on Thursday 12th November at 7pm. Dr Carol Cooper will be in conversation about her book “The History of Medicine in Twelve Objects”. Dr Cooper takes readers on an engaging, humorous and fascinating journey through some of the 12 objects that have come to define medicine through the ages. Tickets are available on the Hertfordshire website www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/libraries or drop into the library to book your seat.
Not forgetting our younger readers, on Monday 2nd November we are holding a special Gruffalo Granny Storytime at 11am. The session is free and there’s no need to book, just bring along your little ones and enjoy some of Julia Donaldson’s popular tales.
All regular library events continue and details can be found within the What’s On section of the magazine or in the library!
We look forward to welcoming you soon.
Join the library: Royston Library welcomes members of all ages, from babies to those over 100. Membership is free and includes access to BorrowBox for e-books and audiobooks, as well as two hours of free daily computer use.
