Mindful Living by Becky, Chanting Stork Yoga: May Flowers

May has a lot going for it.

Hedgerows softening, blossoms opening, colour returning in quiet, steady ways. And, tucked within it, my birthday month. Another gentle step deeper into my 40s. I’ll keep the exact number wrapped in a little mystery, but what I can share is this: with each passing year, I feel more certain of what truly matters.

Nature never rushes its flowering. It doesn’t question its timing or compare its bloom. It simply unfolds… in its own way, in its own time.

More than ever, I am learning to meet myself like this. With kindness. With patience. Softening where I once pushed. Appreciating what is here, rather than chasing what is not.

I’ve been reflecting on a simple teaching often attributed to Rumi: before we speak, let our words pass through three gates.
Is it true?
Is it necessary?
Is it kind?
What if we turned these questions inward?
Is what I’m telling myself true?
Is it necessary?
And above all… is it kind?

Perhaps this is how we tend to ourselves. Like a garden. Not by forcing growth, but by creating the conditions for it. Space. Breath. Light.

If you’ve been feeling the call to slow down, to soften, or simply to reconnect, I would love to welcome you into a class this month. A space to move, breathe, and quietly bloom… exactly as you are.

Sometimes, mindful living begins right there… on the yoga mat.
