Exercise4Fun Scheme available at Melbourn Sports Centre…

EXERCISE4FUN SCHEME AVAILABLE AT MSC

After the huge success of the first and second Exercise4Fun programme at Melbourn Sports Centre, they are proud to announce that a third scheme will be running, commencing on Tuesday 16th January at 7pm.

Designed exclusively for adults with a BMI of 25+ (23.5+ for ethnic minorities) who are currently classed as inactive, this programme runs for a twelve-week period, during which participants will be able to choose from a variety of sporting activities aimed to improve health and fitness levels.  Part of this programme will also focus on wellbeing and nutritional elements, all with an ultimate goal of helping individuals to become more comfortable with active pursuits and to continue them after the programme finishes for a healthier, happier lifestyle.

Benefits include an initial 90-day free membership to the MSC facility (swimming pool and Fitness Suite plus any relevant classes), with an opportunity to extend this further with the completion of the scheme*

To be eligible to participate in the Exercise4Fun programme, you need to be:

  • A resident of South Cambridgeshire
  • An adult aged 18 or over with a BMI of 25+ (23.5+ for ethnic minorities)
  • Not a member of any leisure centre

Graham Johnson-Mack, Sports Centre manager, said ‘The Exercise4Fun scheme has been a really positive experience.  We’ve had a lot of feedback from those who have attended, expressing their feelings on how much the programme has assisted their fitness, health and well-being.  It demonstrates that making exercise fun and enjoyable helps those who find it a bit more of a challenge, and we’re hoping the Third scheme is just as successful.’

Linton Sports Centre, Sawston Sports Centre and Cambourne Sports Centre have also been selected to run similar schemes as well.

The team at MSC look forward to welcoming you!
