A segway – a two-wheeled self-balancing vehicle – was one of the more unusual items brought in for repair at the Royston Repair Café in May.
A problem was diagnosed and, while it wasn’t mended, the owner went away with advice for a possible fix.
As well as the segway, other items at the last Repair Café had an ‘outdoor feel’ about them including a lawnmower and leaf-blower, a walking frame, items of clothing and, perhaps in anticipation of the warm weather to come, an electric fan.
Looking ahead, owners of broken household items are invited to book them in for the next Royston Repair Café – on Saturday 8th August 2-5pm – at Coombes Community Centre. Broken items (only one per person) are assessed and, if possible, fixed for free by skilled volunteer repairers.
