Save the date! The Barkway Christmas Tree Festival For Christmas in Barkway this year, we will be celebrating by having a Christmas Tree Festival. A great opportunity to bring everyone together, families, individuals, organisations and local businesses and we very much hope you will come.
It will help raise money for two local projects. The Wagon Wash repair is essential and the iconic cedar tree by the lychgate in the church yard needs professional arborist care to create a support structure for the tree.
There will still be a main Christmas tree again by the Village Pond, but the opening event will focus on an amazing weekend of festivities, admiring the Christmas trees, music, Santa and of course festive refreshments. There will be no charge for entry but as we are raising money, but donations welcome.
The event is aimed at bringing our community together. So everyone is invited to decorate a small tree 3-4 feet (these can be used trees from home or purchased for about £6-£10 from Argos), whether it represents your family, yourself, your organisation or business.
Be creative, dress your tree in a way that reflects who or what you are e.g. Barkway Lunches, will have soup bowls and cheese hanging from the branches! Maybe you have
a musical family or a love of football. It is your tree to express yourself.
There will be a memory tree so anyone can leave a memory/reflection for a loved one. Trees will be erected throughout the church on Thursday 10th December and the events will run from 5pm-7pm on Fri 11th, Sat 12th and Sun 13th December. In between the church will be open each day and early evening until Tues 15th for everyone to enjoy.
