Use positivity to transform your life

Affirmations are the practice of positive thinking and self-empowerment. Personally, I found practicing positive affirmations are a great way to combat negative thoughts of self-doubt and help build self-esteem.

As part of evolution and survival our brain has a bias towards negativity even when we have positive experiences. Daily affirmations change this and plant seeds of positivity to your internal belief system and therefore the way we interact with the world.

You can apply this concept to all areas of your life:
· To raise your confidence before presentations or meetings.
· To control negative feelings such as frustration or impatience.
· To help improve self-esteem.
· To overcome a bad habit.

To create an affirmation unique to you, think about the areas of your life that you find challenging. Write an affirmation turning a negative into a positive. By starting your sentence in the present tense: “I am…” or ‘I can…” or “I have…”

The power of affirmations lies in repeating them to yourself several times a day, have them pop up in your notifications, download an app or even use sticky post it notes. You also need to repeat your affirmations as soon as you engage in the negative thought that you want to overcome and allow this seed of positivity to germinate in your heart.

Say it with feeling. Affirmations can be more effective when they carry emotional weight. You need to want this to happen, so every affirmation that you choose to repeat should be a phrase that’s meaningful to you.

‘Once you make a decision the universe conspires to make it happen’

Today’s affirmation: I am enough, I have enough, What I do is enough.

And that’s enough from me x
