Spotlight on… Great Chishill

Great Chishill is the highest village in Cambridgeshire and so it is not surprising that a windmill is located here.

What is rather surprising is that you can support the trust that looks after the windmill by dancing!

David and Wendy McKeown are enthusiastic amateur ballroom and latin dancers who will be running beginners classes lasting 1 hour starting on Friday September 11th at 7.30pm in Great Chishill Village Hall.

The plan is to start from absolute beginner level in waltz, quickstep, cha-cha, rumba and jive and to develop enough figures and technique to be confident to get on a dance floor when the opportunity arises. Nothing fancy, no lifts or complex Strictly Come Dancing moves, so it is ideal exercise for couples of any age. If there is demand, simple routines in foxtrot, tango and samba could be tackled later.

The refurbished Village Hall has a lovely wooden floor just made for dancing! All proceeds beyond the cost of hiring the hall going to the Windmill Trust.
