There’s a thriving market in Orwell each month. Orwell Pannier Market takes place in the Village Hall on the first Saturday of each month, between 10am-12noon. Next month’s market on Saturday 5th December promises to be full of Christmas produce, and will run for an extended time, until 2pm.

Donna Gregory and Karen Williams from Lavinia Cottage Kitchen serves homemade pies to Ciaran and Lizzie Cooney, who have just moved into the village. Donna has won the National Great Taste Award for her pies and pickles, and not only supplies the pub trade, but also has a contract with the Cambridge University Centre.
Val Rees has been a resident of Orwell for 40 years since the age of 7. She goes fishing in her waders to catch trout and shoots her own game, which she brings along to the Orwell Pannier Market.
