Chanting Stork Yoga: Boosting Immunity: Winter Warriors

Following on from September’s article, it’s a great time of the year to get into some new habits not only to ‘boost’ our immunity but to sustain it so that we are in the best possible shape on the inside as well as the outside.

Here are more of my top life hacks to enable you to treat your body like the temple of your soul 😉

Sleep for the Soul
Make sure you’re getting at least 7 to 8 hours sleep a night.Getting sufficient hours of high-quality sleep provides essential support to the immune system. Try creating a sleep-inducing environment with essential oils, warm bath before bed and no mobile phones in the bedroom! Black out blinds are a bonus and ear plugs if your other half or pets are prone to snore!

Nervous System Reset
Try a gentle or restorative yoga class to reduce stress and put the nervous system into a state of rest & repair, so those winter warriors don’t have to keep fighting the stress hormone cortisol. Here’s a link to my next restoration hour, come and join me on zoom from the comfort of your home:

Let Nature Lend You Her Power
Movement of the whole body is beneficial to keep the body in optimal health. Walking encourages us to breathe more deeply, when you walk try to allow your eyes to rest by looking far into the distance and let nature teach you her ways, enjoy the changing seasons and blend with the path and remember there is no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes!
