Royston Aid for Ukraine
Royston-based business Camstore would like to thank all of the community who donated items for their Royston Aid for Ukraine campaign.
The initiative, which saw volunteers sorting and packaging up donations, has received 150 tonnes of donated baby food, formula, toiletries, tents, food and more. Donations arrived from the wider area, including Stotfold and Shelford. At the time of writing, one lorry load has already departed, with two more truckloads due, heading to the Polish border to help the people of Ukraine.
We now have our 2nd and final vehicle planned to load out of our warehouse on Thursday this week (24th March). As donations have slowed for this campaign we have made the decision to stop taking donations as of 5pm on Wednesday (23rd March).
We are working closely with partners both in Poland and the Ukraine and it is our intention to move this second load directly into the Ukraine. We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their immense support and generous donations.
If the situation does not improve in the Ukraine then we will be running a second campaign towards the end of Spring.
