A Little Further Afield: Fairlands Valley Park, Stevenage

Fairlands Valley Park is a great place to take the children for a run around this Easter. There are lots of opportunities for paid activities but a walk around the lakes and a visit to the play area are free!

Once voted as one of the UK’s leading free visitor attractions, Fairlands Valley Park consists of 120 acres of beautiful parkland situated within the heart of Stevenage. The Sailing Centre offers a variety of wet and non-water based outdoor courses and activities for adults and children from 8 years upward.
The 11 acre sailing lake is used for the centre’s dinghy, canoeing, kayak, windsurfing and powerboat courses, and angling.
The Centre also runs many land-based courses and activities such as Boards & Buggies, Grass Sledging, Orienteering, Mountain Biking and Power Kiting.
The newest addition to the Centre ‘So Challenging’ offers a thrill experience with a ropes course and climbing wall.

SO CHALLENGING
For a chance to experience the thrill of being high above the ground, with great views over the park try the High Ropes course. Providing a fun and challenging day for both mind and body with the added thrill factor.

The highly qualified team of helpful and enthusiastic instructors will introduce the customer to a range of new and fun skills in complete safety. Each team building session is led by an instructor and can include: abseiling, Jacob’s ladder, crate stack, leap of faith, and climbing.

No previous experience or equipment is required as everything you need for your session will be provided along with all the necessary training on how to use the kit.

Oh and there is a Trim Trail, a Saturday Park Run, a splash park and a cafe too.
