Financial Boost for Community

Financial Boost for Community

Royston resident Rebecca Heaps launched the UK’s first national tent-sharing company in February last year. She now needs the town’s help and support to get this innovative and community-led project off the ground.

Tentshare is a trail-blazing peerto- peer tent-lending platform offering a way to boost the local economy and reduce the strain on the planet’s resources. The local economy means you, the people in Royston. If you own a tent, you could be making it work for you.

All you need to do is dust off your tent, upload some photos of it onto the Tentshare website and then wait for someone to hire it. It’s as easy as that, and completely free. Tentshare only makes money when you do – 15% commission when someone makes a booking. Simple, transparent, and fair. “But hold on, I don’t own a tent?!” I hear you shout. That’s the beauty of Tentshare – everyone gets the benefit. When you need a tent, whether it’s for a special event, a garden camp-out or a holiday by the sea, Tentshare is the place to find the perfect tent for your needs, and at a reasonable cost, too. You also have the added satisfaction of knowing that the local person who rented you a tent is doing a little happy dance! Once you’ve finished with it, you simply return the tent to its owner.

Rebecca is pleased to announce that she will be running Tentival2021 again this year. This is an interactive virtual  festival, so anyone can join using a laptop or device.
