Towards the Dawning of a New Era

There are few businesses that haven’t been forced to change their sense of direction over the last year, and the Melbourn Community Hub is just one organisation that has found life particularly challenging.
With the short notice intermittent lock downs, and the frequently changing laws governing hygiene and social distancing it has meant an unprecedented test on the management team in offering up new and alternative ideas to modify and stimulate the business.
To enable the Hub barista cafe to continue functioning with suitable social distancing, a marquee was leased and this, coupled with the dedication of staff and volunteers, proved the answer by smoothly solving problems. ‘The safest venue anywhere around’ was stated many times by different customers
Now, with the end of the lockdown tunnel in sight, the Hub is making ready for some big improvements. The many loyal customers that have been so supportive since the inception of the Hub seven years ago, will return to find a bigger, better venue. There will be new and enlarged meeting rooms, a first floor disabled access toilet, improved interior decor, and added menu choice to tempt the taste buds when the building reopens in a few weeks time.
The Hub is now seeking volunteers ready for its great reopening. If you are looking to assist your local community and make a big difference to the village please contact: 01763 263303. Full training will be given.
