Spotlight On: Supporting Royston District Community Transport

Royston and District Community Transport (RDCT) provide a vital service for people in the town and surrounding areas who are unable to drive or use public transport to get to medical and social appointments.

In the year to March 2026, with the support from their wonderful volunteer drivers, they completed just under 4,500 journeys travelling over 100,000 miles.

Here is an example of some of the great passenger feedback we receive regularly:
‘RDCT has been my father’s lifeline. The service you continue to provide twice a week makes an enormous difference to his quality of life. Your drivers consistently go above and beyond, offering care , help, and reassurance on every journey.’

‘I find it so rewarding being a volunteer driver for RDCT and to be able to give something back to our community by helping others when they need it most. Everyone is so grateful for the driving service and the appreciation they show makes it all worthwhile.’

RDCT is a registered charity and relies on local funding support as well as grants to ensure they can maintain their service.

If you are an individual and would like to offer support then we run a SUPPORTERS LOTTERY.

A number costs just £12 per year and you can have as many numbers as you wish. Each month your number will be entered into a £50 prize draw and there is also a £150 bumper draw in June and December.

To enter go to the RDCT website for an application form and more details – www.roytrans.co.uk or give our friendly office team a call on 01763 245228

Any funds raised by you or your staff/members would make a huge difference to us.
