2024 has been a good steady year for the Royston Rockets.
The club hosted a number of events throughout the year with the Eastern Championships in September being the pinnacle, a credit to the club and its brilliant volunteers.
The coaches have completed inductions for new riders every month this year, and seen an increase in members for those successfully completing the sessions.
Most importantly the Rockets have been busy coaching, practicing and racing. Our riders have many race options available to them; club, regional, national and global if they wish.
Our club members begin racing at club races, they are a safe place to start racing with lots of help and advice to get riders used to the format and feel of races.
Most of our riders compete regionally too, heading out within East Anglia to race against other clubs within the region. Regionals are a great experience for riders and a natural progression from club racing, riders get to ride different BMX tracks, learn new skills and socialise with riders from across the region.
The 2024 Olympics helped boost knowledge of BMX Racing as many saw what a fast and exciting sport it is.
