The 10th Royston Scouting group are once again spreading Christmas cheer with their much-loved Scout Christmas Post service – a festive tradition that helps neighbours send local Christmas cards while supporting Scouting activities in our community.
During November and December, local residents can buy special Scout Christmas Stamps for just 50p each from Ladds, Morrisons Daily and Icknield stores. Cards can then be posted in the special Scout post boxes at the same locations, ready to be hand-delivered by enthusiastic Scouts, Cubs and their volunteer helpers.
The final collection date is Monday 15th December, so make sure to get your cards in before then!
Last year, more than 26 Scouting families helped deliver over 1,000 cards, raising an amazing £532 to support camping trips, outdoor adventures, and community projects for local young people.
“It’s a lovely way to give back to the community,” said Greg Bond, Chairperson of 10th Royston Scouting Group. “Every stamp sold helps our young people learn new skills, enjoy the outdoors, and make a difference. Plus, it’s a bit of Christmas magic to see Scouts out and about delivering cards!”
Residents are encouraged to get involved by using the service to send their festive greetings locally. For just 50p, each card supports the Scouts’ work in building confidence, teamwork, and community spirit among young people – and saves a trip to the post office too.
So this Christmas, let a Scout or Cub deliver your cards and help keep this much-loved local tradition alive.
