Did you know that at this time of year, it’s possible to see Ely Cathedral from the top of Therfield Heath – 28 miles away as the crow flies?
This photo was taken by reader Ian Hirst in October 2016, from the memorial bench between the second green and third tee, next to the golf course.
October is one of the best times to spot the Cathedral, thanks to clearer light and less haze. We’ll certainly be keeping an eye out on our autumn walks, with binoculars at the ready!
