Out & About: Live Music re-live the 90s all over again!

What were you like in the 90s?

Nostalgia for the 90s is rife on the back of last year’s Oasis reunion. Social media is filled with “What were you like in the 90s?” posts. So, do you remember the 90s in Royston?! Friday and Saturday nights in the many pubs, everyone down Kebab alley afterwards, followed by having to find some shoes so that we could get into Fat Jax to continue the fun until the early hours!

In 1996 a band from Meridian School were enjoying the Britpop wave, releasing demo tapes at school and playing in the Royston pubs and at the Cambridge band competition, where the people of Royston turned out in huge numbers to secure them the win in the crowd vote!

30 years on, Fringe are re-recording their original demo tracks and are set to play in Royston once more on the 25th July at the Heath Café Bar to launch the first of the tracks – now in modern digital form!

Join them for a night of nostalgia, massive melodic anthems and good vibes! With support from another local band, the brilliant By.The.By.

The suggested door entry fee is £5 as all proceeds for the night will go to the wonderful Maggies Cambridge, who provide support for people with cancer as well as their family and friends in Cambridge, a charity close to the hearts of all those in the band.
