As Thích Nhat Hanh beautifully said, “Smile, breathe and go slowly.”
Perhaps that’s the sweet spot.
Not perfection. Not constant balance, this for that.
But, just enough space to breathe, to notice, and to savour this beautiful month before it quietly slips into autumn.
Here’s a little August practice:
Pause for one slow breath.
Inhale for a count of four.
Exhale for a count of six.
Then simply ask yourself, “What feels sweet in this moment?”
The Italians have a beautiful phrase: la dolce vita… the sweet life. Perhaps it isn’t about luxury or escaping everyday life at all.
Perhaps it’s found in ordinary moments that we fully inhabit. A smile. A chat with your neighbour. Bare feet on grass. A yoga practice that leaves you feeling lighter than when you arrived.
If you’re curious to discover a little more buoyancy in body and mind this August, come and join us on the mat. You might be surprised to discover that the sweetness isn’t something you find… it’s something you create.
See you on the mat!
