Members of Royston & District Motor Cycle Club joined with 550 motorcyclists for the annual Toy Run to Addenbrookes Hospital.

The Toy Run organised by Cambridge Motor Cyclists delivers unwrapped toys for those children spending Christmas in Addenbrookes Hospital. Such are the large number of gifts the Red Hen Project a hyper-local charity that promotes wellbeing for children have become involved to distribute presents to children whose parents are experiencing hardship.

Bikers assembled at the La Pergola. Harleston where they received a briefing from a police sergeant. The convoy was escorted from the La Pergola through Cambridge by members of the Cambs, Beds and Hunts traffic police halting at the Trumpington Park & Ride to handover the variety of toys to the organisers.

Playing their part to add to the Christmas spirit were the Cambridge band supported by their choir to provide a festive spirit.  The mayor of Cambridge was on hand to thank all those for their generosity. The past mayor, being a keen motorcyclist together with his wife on the pillion was among those taking part in the possession.

Each year this event increases in size with motorcyclists from all over the Eastern region contributing towards bringing happiness to those children whose Christmas is spent in hospital.
