Looking After You: What If Normal Isn’t Normal Anymore
As I sit down to write this article I noticed a collection of thoughts beginning with “What if…”
As I connect to the fact that this is all unknown and we have no real control on how the world will be after this pandemic, which fills me, like many of you I’m sure, with uncertainty and anxiety so I ask myself what can we really do about it? My thoughts head straight to the present moment – the only thing that we can really be sure about is the moment of now and how we feel in it. Whilst many things are out of our control most of the time, I wonder how many of us truly let the outside world affect how we actually feel and our levels of happiness. When we connect to the present moment we can focus truly on being happy, being with family, having this extra time and maybe many more positive things from this slow pace of life that has been presented to us. Right now is a time to spend focusing on you and your family, connecting to the important things that we hold dear to us. It is in times of crisis that we as a human race grow and support each other and begin to shine.
I shall leave you with this quote from a Buddhist monk and teacher:
“When we are mindful, deeply in touch with the present moment, our understanding of what is going on deepens, and we begin to be filled with acceptance, joy, peace and love.” – Thich Nhat Hanh
