The Friends of Therfield Heath & Greens –Â Become a Friend in 2022
Do you care for the environment, recycle your waste, take an interest in where you live? Then becoming a Friend of Therfield Heath and Greens is a great way of being more proactive. The Friends organise a variety of Heath based events throughout the year including expert led walks and talks, looking at the variety of flowers, bats, birds and archaeology on the Heath. Litter Picks, outdoor friendly art sessions, an astronomy evening and even an Easter egg hunt are all on our agenda this year. Membership for 12 months costs £12 per individual or only £16 for all your household! Members receive a monthly newsletter with news on the Heath and FOTH events with reduced entry to the activities we organise. The funds raised go towards projects that encourage conservation and improvement of your local Therfield Heath environment.
Coming up in March, the archaeology walk on the Heath is on 5th March at 1.45pm for 2.5 to 3 hours. It’s led by Keith Fitzpatrick- Matthews, Archaeologist and museum curator for North Herts District Council. This walk and talk will give you a greater insight into the early history of the Heath as you view and learn more about these important neolithic and bronze age barrows.
The Friends of Therfield Heath monthly litter pick is on Sunday 13th March, find us between 9.30-10.30am between the café and tennis courts. Whether you collect a little or a lot, it all helps. Finish 12noon at the latest.
