The charity Angels Support, which helps families of children with autism (ASC)  and/or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, was given a £6,000 donation by Royston Rotary Club this week.

The club’s president, Phillip Martin, handed over a cheque to the charity’s Bethan Desai and Kirsten Bennet (pictured) at a dinner held at Royston Golf Club.  Afterward, Angels sent its thanks, saying: “A huge and heartfelt thank you. Thank you so much – we rely on donations and grants to help local families access our support.”

The money was from funds raised by Rotary’s annual kite festival, which returned to  Therfield Heath this August. Angels supports families and carers of children with ASC and/or ADHD, and is based in Letchworth. It works  “ To build understanding and to empower parents to hear their child’s voice. The key aim is to maximise the individual potential of each child and young person.”

President Phillip said: “We are delighted to be able to support a worthy charity such as this. They thoroughly deserve help in the amazing work that they do for families in our area.”
