Royston Community Gallery Curwens Gallery in Royston is delighted to present Sonja Day.
Sonja Day is a local artist based just outside Buntingford, with over thirty years of painting experience and more than twenty five years of teaching art from her own garden studio.
Many of her students, some now in their seventies and eighties, have been learning with her for nearly two decades – a testament to her dedication and teaching style.
While acrylic is her main medium, Sonja also works in watercolour, charcoal, coloured pencil and cyanotype, and shares this broad skill set with her students. She paints and teaches primarily on paper and canvas today, though her earlier career included creating hand-painted wooden pieces, boxes and blanks, sold at craft fairs around the country.
Curious and versatile, Sonja enjoys exploring crafts from crochet and felting to sewing and cooking.
She continues to inspire others through both her art and her enthusiasm for learning.
