Citizens Advice has been helping people solve problems for 85 years—and it’s still going strong.
While many in the community may already be familiar with the service, Citizens Advice North Herts is taking this opportunity to reintroduce itself to anyone who might not yet know about the support available.
Established in Hitchin in 1939, Citizens Advice North Herts was created at the outset of the Second World War to help local residents navigate difficult times. Since then, the organisation has expanded, with offices also now in Royston and Letchworth. The challenges people face may have evolved, but the mission remains unchanged: to help people find a way forward.
As a local, independent charity, Citizens Advice North Herts provides free, confidential, impartial, and independent advice to anyone who needs it. Whether dealing with the ongoing cost-of-living crisis, or seeking help with debt, housing, employment, benefits, or family issues, residents can count on expert guidance and support.
“No one should face problems alone,” is a guiding principle for the organisation. Each year, trained advisers assist thousands of people across North Hertfordshire and South Cambridgeshire—and the team is committed to helping even more.
For those looking for support or simply wanting to understand their rights and options, Citizens Advice is there to help – just when you need it most.
