Community News: Afternoon of Celebration…

The Royston community came together to celebrate the life and legacy of local business-woman Julia Brooks at a charity fundraiser in aid of Arthur Rank Hospice Charity.

The ‘Afternoon of Celebration’ was held in September at Burloes Hall, with over 160 people attending. The event was organised by local marketing agency, C4B, where Julia was a founding Director. Attendees were treated to a sit-down meal by Portfolio Events, and entertainment was provided by singers Tom Huttlestone, and Herts-based jazz singer, Miss Jones. Together with tickets sold, sponsorship and support from Royston First BID, Royston Chamber of Commerce, the Listing Magazine, Burloes Hall, and Bury Lane, and proceeds from a grand raffle, a total of £7,478 was raised for the Arthur Rank Hospice Charity. This brings the total on Julia’s fundraising page, www.juliabrooks.muchloved.com, to over £16,000
