CADS Snow White in Royston CANCELLED
The Committee of Royston Drama Group CADS reluctantly decided last night that they must cancel the 2022 Royston pantomime Snow White. The decision was made in view of the current escalation of the spread of Omicron and consequent uncertainty about whether or not they could guarantee to have a full cast and crew available for every performance.Â
Director Emma Daintrey said “We understand the disappointment this will cause, but we believe it is the sensible and responsible thing to do in the circumstances. It seemed better to make the decision now rather than to wait until the day of a show and risk turning people away at the door, including those who would have travelled some distance to see it. Anyone who has already purchased tickets will be refunded in full. We hope that circumstances will allow us to stage a panto in 2023.”
In May 2022 CADS plan to enter Welwyn Festival of Drama with Blonde Bombshell by local author Roy Maddox.

Corvus Amateur Drama Society CADS are delighted that January 2022 sees the return of Royston Pantomime.
This brand-new production of Snow White by John Yates will give audiences a fresh view of the much-loved fairy tale. With an extra matinee performance, it brings the prospect of family fun and laughter at the end of a long dark month.
Directed by Emma Daintrey, with musical direction by Louise Atkins, the performance in the round has all the usual characters and plenty of jokes, songs and special effects.
The large cast includes well-known panto favourites David Atkins, Kathy Young, Angela Sassoli and Barbara Perry, all of whom are relishing being back on stage and can’t wait to perform to a live audience after such a long break.
Advance booking is strongly advised as the seating capacity is reduced from previous years.
The CADS team are pleased to that they’ve made their performances as Covid safe as possible, and have introduced some stipulations for attending this production.
These include:
A negative Lateral Flow Test for every audience member
Proof of double vaccination
Face masks are mandatory in the auditorium (unless exempt)
The cast will not be wearing face masks while performing and will have to have a negative Lateral Flow Test each day.
Anyone cancelling their tickets because of a positive Covid test result will receive a refund.
Should CADS need to cancel any performances tickets will be refunded.
Tickets are on sale via the CADS website www.cadsroyston.org.uk. They cost £12 for adults (18+) and £8 for concessions (OAPs and under-18s).
Performance dates are Saturday 22nd January (2pm and 7.30pm), Sunday 23rd January (11.30am), Friday 28th January (7.30pm) and Saturday 29th January (2pm and 7.30pm)
