A Busy Year So Far for Wise Local Crafters…
It has been a very busy year so far for Wise Local Crafters, with members supporting a number of local charities through their creativity and generosity.
The group was delighted to welcome a representative from Arthur Rank Hospice, who visited to thank members for making more than 50 Easter chicks, each filled with an Easter egg. Lisa from Arthur Rank also gave an informative talk about the wonderful work the hospice carries out.
Wise Local Crafters also made over 210 teddy worry worms for every child at Meldreth Primary School, as well as donating arts and crafts supplies to encourage the children to get creative.
Many of the group’s talented members have also been busy knitting and crocheting baby blankets and baby items for Broomfield Hospital Maternity Unit and Project Linus, helping to support families and children in need.
Alongside their charitable work, members recently enjoyed a fun, hands-on session decorating wooden bowls with fabric. There was plenty of creativity, laughter and even a little mess, and the group hopes to continue running similar projects in the future.
New members are always welcome, Wise Local Crafters meets every Thursday from 10.30am onwards at the Eternit Sports & Social Club, where members enjoy a relaxed and sociable morning over refreshments served by Lucy.
