Children at Icknield Walk First School recently took part in the ‘Colour Your World’ art competition, organised by The Art Room in Royston. The inspiring theme encouraged pupils to explore colour through a range of artistic techniques, including texture, tone, printing and collage.
The competition linked perfectly with our whole school celebration of Sir David Attenborough’s birthday, with each year group creating artwork inspired by one of his iconic documentary series.
We are delighted that, Ruby, one of our Year 1 pupils was chosen as a winner. Her beautiful artwork thoughtfully captured the vibrant colours and fascinating life of our oceans, reflecting the ‘Colour Your World’ theme through imaginative use of colour, texture and creativity. Lauren from ‘The Art Room’, said, “Ruby’s underwater piece was a unanimous decision, we loved the mixed media she used”.
