Club News: Royston Photographic Society: Andrew Fox

This month, The Listing’s spotlight falls upon the photography of Andrew Fox.

Andrew has been a member of Royston Photographic Society since its inception over 30 years ago. For the majority of that time he has held the post of club secretary, and was the key driver in establishing the society as a part of the Royston Arts Festival, from its early days exhibiting in the Fish Hill Rooms through to the modern venue of the Town Hall.

Andrew’s love of photography started at university whilst studying architecture. His dark room skills developed to produce architectural photographs that have been an important part of his subsequent career. His developing hobby and participation in the photographic society established Andrew’s particular interest in the landscape and wildlife of the UK. One of his aims is to photograph every species of British bird. Andrew is another photographer from the society who can regularly be found walking on Therfield Heath, as well as at RSPB Fowlmere, with his camera as there is always something interesting there to watch or to take a photograph of.

Having recently retired Andrew now has the opportunity to travel further afield in search of stunning scenery, bird life and wild life of the UK. This will allow him to add to the bird and animal species he has already photographed.
