Easter Fun at Royston Library, As the days grow longer and spring arrives, Royston Library is offering a full programme of activities to keep children entertained over the Easter break.
Regular favourites: Baby Rhyme Time continues on Wednesday mornings and Friday afternoon Story Times also remain part of the weekly schedule. Families are reminded that these sessions will not run over the Easter weekend.
Easter holiday activities: Children can enjoy Easter badge making on Saturday 4th April (10.30am–12 noon), using the library’s new badge press (£1 per badge).
LEGO Club returns on Saturday 11th April at 2pm, with an additional Easter session on Tuesday 31st March at 10.30am. Sessions are suitable for ages 5+ and cost £4.40 per child. Early booking is recommended.
Coding, creativity & discovery: A family drop-in session takes place on Friday 10th April (10.30am–12 noon), showcasing digital resources including Intelino Smart Trains and Sphero Indy cars. Children aged 6–11 can explore coding in a fun, hands-on way. Entry is free, with donations welcome.
Author visit: On Saturday 11th April at 11am, children’s author Truly Johnston will lead an interactive workshop based on her book The Shell Keepers. The session encourages young writers aged 8–11 to explore storytelling through the senses and create a postcard inspired by a special place. Tickets cost £4.40 and can be booked via www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/libraries.
Looking ahead: HALS will present a talk on Hertfordshire’s Notorious Witches on Thursday 14th May, with full details to be announced soon.
Join the library: Royston Library welcomes members of all ages, from babies to those over 100. Membership is free and includes access to BorrowBox for e-books and audiobooks, as well as two hours of free daily computer use.
Special activity session: On Saturday 7th March at 2.15pm, the library will host a Creator Space “Out of the Box” session for children aged 6+, featuring Mini Sphero robots and coding challenges. Tickets are £4.40 per child.
