Essex & Herts Air Ambulance invite supporters to share their 20 year milestone with A Year of Celebrations!
Are you celebrating a special birthday, anniversary, wedding or a personal milestone before June 30th 2018? If so, then why not ask your guests to make a donation to your local life-saving Charity? This year Essex & Herts Air Ambulance celebrate 20 Years of Saving Lives and they are calling upon everyone across the counties who has something to celebrate to share this special milestone with them.
Essex & Herts Air Ambulance unlike NHS emergency services, is a Charity providing a free life-saving Helicopter Emergency Medical Service (HEMS) for the critically ill and injured of Essex, Hertfordshire and surrounding areas.
Each HEMS Team consists of a Pilot and Co-pilot, a Pre-hospital Care Doctor and a Critical Care Paramedic who can be rushed to the scene of an incident with life-saving support equipment to deliver advanced clinical care that is normally only found in the hospital emergency department. Once stabilised, the patient will be conveyed by air or land to the most appropriate hospital for their needs.
It costs £6.5 million every year to cover all charitable costs and aircraft operations. Without access to National Lottery funding and with only limited support from Government, the Charity relies upon the generosity and goodwill of the people and businesses of Essex and Hertfordshire to remain operational and keep saving lives.
Sabi Stafford, Fundraising Manager said “We are very grateful to supporters who have already requested donations in lieu of gifts. People are getting behind this campaign and have so far raised £15,464 towards the £20,000 target for their local Air Ambulance.”
Whether it be pounds or pennies, every donation counts at Essex & Herts Air Ambulance. Even £5 can buy disposable head blocks to help maintain spinal immobilisation in patients and £8 can buy a blood pressure cuff to monitor the status of a patient. Everyone’s contributions really add together to make a massive difference.
