The Friends Of Therfield Heath and Greens
Do you know your Birch from your Beech?
You are invited to join the Trees and Other Wildlife Walk on Therfield Heath, Sunday 14th November at 2pm.
The walk will be led by Doug Radford, former warden at Fowlmere RSPB Reserve. Doug will help you to identify the trees by looking at their bark, shape, fruits and leaves and consider other wildlife that they support.
Doug’s birdsong walks earlier this year were very popular, so book your places early by phoning 01763 247064.
Meet outside the Heath Café at 2pm. Please wear appropriate clothing and footwear. The walk will go ahead except in extreme weather. £3 for members, £6 non-members.
The Friends held a successful Star Gazing evening in October. With clear skies and the guidance of two astronomers, we were able to see stars, galaxies, Jupiter and Saturn. Our thanks go to both experts, Ted Pillinger and Royston’s Tim Wells for an inspirational and informative evening.
