News from Tannery Drift School
Olympic Team GB Boxer, Anthony Ogogo, recently visited Tannery Drift First School as part of a promotional tour by the new Aldi Royston store. He led an assembly to the whole school on the importance of a healthy diet and exercise.
The children came away from the assembly inspired by his key messages to work hard and believe in yourself. He entertained the children with skipping, stories of competing and answering children’s questions about his sporting achievements and how he first got into his sport. Afterwards he was kind enough to pose for lots of photos!
Olanna, Year 3, said, ‘I felt really lucky to see Anthony in the assembly because he is an athlete and has spent his life working hard. I enjoyed it when he told us about his job, he made me feel like I might like to try boxing too!’ Thank you to Aldi and Anthony Ogogo for offering the children this wonderful experience.
