Update from Royston Museum…

The last few months have seen some exciting changes at Royston Museum.

In December we welcomed Emma, our new Museum Manager. Emma has worked for a range of different museums and heritage sites, primarily in learning and engagement. She loves nothing more than chatting to visitors and creating fun activities and events for everyone to enjoy. When she’s not working, Emma can often be found off adventuring with her young family or her Scouts.

If you haven’t visited us recently, then you may not have seen the outcome of our recent renovations. Downstairs we have a new accessible toilet with baby changing facilities, whilst upstairs has been transformed into a new Research Room and Community Room. We’re now in the final stages as we purchase the last few pieces of furniture… and debate the best colour chairs to get!

We’re incredibly grateful for the funding we received to make this happen and are looking forward to seeing the changes benefit our community. We’ve also been busy planning lots of exciting events for all ages to enjoy this year. One of the most important is our 40th anniversary!

The Museum was opened by the Town Council and Royston & District Local History Society on Saturday 28th April 1984, and we’ll be celebrating with an event for the whole community – keep an eye on our social media and website for more information.

Half-Term Fun at Royston Museum – Calling all noble knights and mighty monarchs! Join us for hands-on family fun this half-term inspired by knights, kings and their castles.
