Royston Museum – Discover Over 2000 years of Royston’s story

Discover over 2000 years of Royston’s story… by Royston Museum

On Saturday 8th July, get your plaid rags on, grab your scarecrows and join us for our Summer Carnival! With stalls, refreshments, fete games, free arts and crafts, face painting and more! It’s a right country knees up. Yee-haw! Drop in, 10am – 4pm. Free entry!

Our new exhibition, ‘Fields of Gold’, opens this month too, detailing the importance of Royston’s agriculture through the ages. From the medieval monks at the priory to our nationally-renowned corn market in the 16thcentury, farming has played a huge part in Royston’s story. Learn about the industries that dominated the landscape and how farming changed over the centuries, and hear tales of the farmers and their wives. 6th July – 1st October 2023. For visitor information and opening times, visit roystonmuseum.org.uk.

Plus, we’re going intergalactic with the return of our summer activities! Last year our young explorer’s solved ancient mysteries and this year we’re rocketing off into space! Every Thursday and Friday between 3rd August – 1st September, journey into the unknown with cosmic experiments and crafts, and learn about our incredible universe.

There’s also a different stamp to collect each week. 5 weeks. 5 adventures. Collect all 5 stamps to win a prize! It’s going to be out of this world.
