Visitors enjoyed a wonderful annual event at Coombes Hole strolling around this beautiful RAGA site and seeing the incredible variety of colourful and homegrown produce.
Despite the recent scorching temperatures, it was fantastic to hear from the plotholders that their crops have been doing really well, especially the sunflowers !
Chairman Chris Morgan shared information about the allotments and the work that goes on behind the scenes.
One of the plotholders, Leanda proudly showed us her fantastic variety of produce, including the rather unusual and delicious-looking ‘Cucamelons’!
She loved the peace, tranquillity and sense of community that the allotments provide.
Congratulations to Janet at Plot 25C who had just been awarded ‘Best Decorated Shed’ with her stunning floral artwork.
Visitors were delighted to meet ‘Gamora’ one of the many chickens happily housed on site.
The BBQ and refreshments were very well received, and looked delicious.
A huge shout-out to the committee and all the volunteers for putting on yet another splendid open day. Your hard work helps create a wonderful space for growing, connecting and bringing the community together.
