During May half term my family and I were lucky enough to attend the Families Who Brunch Party ran by local mum Katie from Mamas Who Brunch. The event was held at The Woodman Inn at Nuthampstead and as well as entertainment by Little Wiggles and The Party Factory there was pottery hand printing by Glazed Creations and photos by Daring Footsteps.

Once we arrived and parents grabbed a hot drink, Nicole from Little Wiggles took to the stage to do interactive dance-related games that my 4-year-old loved, lots of pretending to be animals and superheroes, my daughter enjoyed singing with all the other children and had great fun.

We then were ushered through to the restaurant for a delicious lunch, as someone who didn’t come with a friend I was a little nervous that everyone would know each other and I wouldn’t have anyone but my kids to talk through, but I was wrong, everyone was very friendly, helping each other out and generally having a good natter. One of the aims of Mamas Who Brunch is to help parents to feel less isolated and ‘find their tribe’ I feel the lunch setup certainty made this happen and I swapped numbers with several other mums for play dates and a general natter.

After lunch the kids raced back through to be entertained by Sasha from the Party Factory, which my 7-year-old said was the best bit, Sasha kept all of the children entertained and engaged, so the parents got a chance to continue their conversations from lunch and not worry about their little ones.  If the entertainment wasn’t for the The Woodman Inn has a large outdoor playground that they could also enjoy, unfortunately, it was a bit cold and wet when we went but next time the girls will be all over it!

It was great to see Kelly from Glazed Creations and her focus on Father’s Day hand and foot prints gave an opportunity for parents to create adorable gifts and it was fab to see so many families enjoying this activity.  My girls loved having their picture taken by Vicky from Daring Footsteps and I loved the results which will be their fathers day gift!

I would really recommend if you haven’t been to one of the Mamas Who Brunch events to get yourselves along it was fun, fast paced enough for the kids and with a really friendly vibe for the parents, no one felt left out.

Parent Top Tip – Book early, these events are really popular and they often sell out.
