November Update: The Friends of Therfield Heath and Greens

The Friends continue to work hard fundraising and promoting the differing aspects of Therfield Heath.
In September, we arranged a fascinating Bat walk, our monthly litter pick and the first in the series of wildlife talks, which was an entertaining talk accompanied by beautiful photographs of birds, mammals and even the slime mould looked good.
We took En Plein Air Art to Royston Market, where the regular En Plein Air group was boosted by two shoppers who stopped to experience outdoor art for the first time, and joined the Sustain-ability group’s event on Priory Gardens.

October was a quieter time, when 17 adults, three children and two dogs took part in the monthly litter pick and Cat the ranger gave a very interesting talk on how wildlife is managed on the Heath. In November, the Wildlife talk is on Badgers, given by a member of the Herts and Middlesex Badger Group and the fundraising continues with The Friends hosting a special charity meal at the Thai Rack on Wednesday 8th November. £20 will buy you a delicious 2 course meal, with a selection of dishes, with tea/coffee afterwards and includes a contribution that goes to supporting the heath grassland restoration projects.
