News from Icknield Walk First School…
Children at Icknield Walk First School thoroughly enjoyed their visit from local folk duo ‘Megson’ last week. Megson have been nominated four times for the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and they provided our pupils with a fun and interactive performance.
Debs and Stu entertained children across the year groups with their incredible vocals and musical talent. The children had a great time at the concert and even took part with actions and dancing. The children also learnt about the variety of instruments played by Debs and Stu, including a Guitar, Mandola, Banjo, Penny Whistle, Piano and Accordion.
One child commented on the performance saying, “They were really good and they taught us about their instruments. I had never heard of a Banjo before”.
