News From Roysia Women’s Club

We had two speaker meetings in February, both speakers making a welcome return visit to the club.

‘What your Granny did in the Black Out’ was given by Jean Fullerton. She elaborated about the dark side of the black out and how difficult life was for everyone in this country during the second World War. She also went on to explain how it was a golden age of crime plus being a liberating time for women.

Our second speaker was Colin Hill who used to work in the Metropolitan Police Force as a Royal Protection Officer. His talk was titled ‘Would you Adam and Eve It’ where he recounted more fascinating stories of his time in the police force.

Other meetings in February were our social and then our AGM at the end of the month where we reviewed the past year.

New members are always welcome at the club, we meet in the Town Hall on Monday evenings from 8-9.45pm.
