Mindful Living by Becky, Chanting Stork Yoga: Finding Inner Peace
What Does Inner Peace Mean to you?
Life is challenging for everyone in their own way so not one size fits all. The turbulence you experience will be unique to you but please know that you are not alone in the experience.
Here is how Wikipedia defines it:
“Inner peace, refers to a state of being mentally and spiritually at peace, with enough knowledge and understanding to keep oneself strong in the face of discord or stress. Being ‘at peace’ is considered by many to be healthy and the opposite of being stressed or anxious.”
How to Find Inner Peace and Happiness
There are many ways to achieve inner peace and happiness. It requires patience and practice. Now is a good time to begin.
Spend Time in Nature
This is a great time of the year to be outside and wonder amongst nature in all her glory. The trees, flowers and landscapes are a reminder of a much bigger powerful force and help us zoom out of our problems. Taking long deep breaths, breathing out any worries and let mother nature remind you of the wonder of the universe.
Meditate
In last month’s article we looked at the benefits. A proven science to decrease anxiety and prevent depression. Try making time for it every day, come to a yoga class or listen to a guided meditation.
No Regrets
We have all made mistakes in the past, but dwelling on this will take the best of you. Don’t let your past mistakes define you and don’t let those memories stop you from growing into a better individual. Let go of your regrets. And remember each day we get to wake up and start again.
Next month we continue to look at more ways of finding inner peace.
Peaceful wishes,
Becky
