End of Topic Celebrations at Icknield Walk First School
Year 2 and Year 4 pupils at Icknield Walk First School have celebrated the end of their topics with an exciting dress up day. Pupils in Year 4 came dressed as Vikings and participated in many creative and engaging activities, including writing Viking runes, making a Viking game out of clay and making jewellery. They also made and tasted mead, a popular Viking drink and the oat flapjacks were a hit! It was the perfect way to finish a thoroughly enjoyable topic.
To mark the end of their history topic about ‘The Homes of Kings and Queens’, Year 2 pupils enjoyed a Medieval Day. The children dressed up and looked wonderful as knights, jesters and royalty. They had a day of arts based activities, which included a music session putting instruments and actions to a song, making crowns, decorating goblets and enjoying a Medieval feast.
