Art enthusiasts in Royston are in for a treat as local self-taught artist Mathew Brett showcases his stunning collection at Curwens. The exhibition will be open on Saturdays 15th, 22nd of February, and Saturday 1st of March, from 9am to 1pm.
Mathew, a passionate and multi-talented artist, expresses his creativity through various mediums. His artistic journey extends beyond painting, with an impressive portfolio that includes celebration and wedding cakes, as well as artisan truffle chocolates. However, it is through his artwork that Mathew truly showcases his diverse range of skills.
His pieces explore a variety of techniques, from pencil and acrylic to airbrush painting. His work features an eclectic mix of styles, including abstract, pop art, elegant forms, floral themes, and wildlife-inspired creations. Over recent years, Mathew has shared his work with a wider audience, participating in the Royston Art Exhibition and now exhibiting at Curwens.
Mathew’s talent has also gained recognition beyond Royston, with commissioned pieces adorning homes in London and even as far as Australia. Adding a personal touch to his work, he crafts his own frames, often using oak for its aesthetic appeal and texture.
Visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity to experience Mathew’s unique artistic vision and, for those interested, discuss commission work directly with the artist. Don’t miss this chance to immerse yourself in his inspiring collection.
