It is now just over a year Outside of the Box was set up and as many of you will be aware it has been a difficult year.
Currently we offer a combination of social sessions for youngsters not in school by choice or otherwise (with/without SEN), adults and parent/carer support. All our sessions are fully inclusive and take place in a therapeutic environment at our hub. We offer bespoke education packages suitable for those with a personal budget and/or EOTAS as well as privately funded. In the holidays we have a variety of activity sessions again in small groups and this summer will be trialling a few longer sessions for over 8’s.
Exciting times are ahead as we move into our second year, having recently secured a grant from Cheshire Community Foundation. We will be using this for our Lantern Project which involves a variety of initiatives to support local youngsters who have additional needs, and their families. There will be the opportunity for those who wouldn’t normally be able to afford our holiday activities to access reduced price sessions, and we’re working with local schools to identify youngsters who are struggling in school to access a pilot scheme. Look out for a series of workshops for parent/carers providing information and support in what can be a very challenging and isolating time. All of our projects are focussed on improving self-esteem, well-being and reducing isolation in our target group. Look out for more partnerships to bring more services/activities to Royston for the people of North Herts and South Cambs.

Volunteering: Behind the scenes, assisting with activities. We would love to get a book club going to share the love of reading with youngsters. We are also in need of someone who has IT/Gaming experience.
