The next Royston Repair Café at Coombes Community Centre is from 2-5pm on Saturday 25th May.
The team of volunteer repairers invites owners of broken household items to book in their items in advance – details below – for free assessment and, if possible, a free fix.
Many owners return to the Repair Café events regularly, but the team also like to see those who may be new to the world of repair. One attender at the last Repair Café in February was delighted to get her leaf-blower fixed, saying “They are lovely friendly people, and very well organised. The repairer spoke in plain English and advised me about what was happening, and what I could do in future.”
At each session, over half of the items brought in are repaired, and even people with an item that can’t be fixed on the day, leave knowing more about the problem and are sometimes referred to professional repairers.
