Royston Town FC will host a very special charity football match on Sunday 26th July, bringing together football personalities, content creators, local legends and the community for an unforgettable afternoon of football, fundraising and remembrance.
The match will see Jensen Adeyanju All Stars take on a Royston Town XI in memory of Jamie Covington, who sadly lost his life to Rhabdomyosarcoma after an incredibly brave two-and-a-half-year battle with the rare and aggressive childhood cancer. Jamie was just 15 years old.
The event aims to celebrate Jamie’s life while raising awareness of childhood cancer and supporting two important local causes. Fifty per cent of all ticket sales will be donated to Jamie’s Quest, helping to fund vital research into Rhabdomyosarcoma and raise awareness of the disease. The remaining proceeds will support the ongoing community work of Royston Town FC.
Visitors can look forward to much more than just the football. The family-friendly event will include opportunities to meet players, content creators and special guests, along with autograph and photo sessions. Supporters are encouraged to bring shirts, footballs and memorabilia to be signed.
There will also be fundraising activities, refreshments, cakes and sweet treats available throughout the afternoon, creating a fun day out for football fans and families alike.
The action kicks off at 2pm, but the excitement continues after the final whistle, with many of the players and special guests staying until approximately 6pm for meet-and-greets, photographs and time with supporters.
By coming along, supporters will not only enjoy a fantastic afternoon of football but also help celebrate Jamie’s memory, raise awareness of childhood cancer and make a real difference to families affected by this devastating disease.
The event takes place at Royston Town FC, Garden Walk, with gates opening at 12 noon.
