Community News: Bug Hotels

Bug hotels: tiny homes for garden wildlife!

We’ve spotted some very cute bug hotels whilst out and about!

Built from natural and recycled materials, these structures provide valuable places for garden insects and small animals to shelter, nest and hibernate especially as we experience increasingly hot temperatures.

Royston has its very own ‘Bee & Bee’ installed by John O’Conner Grounds Maintenance Ltd as part of their Bee Corridor initiative, helping to connect communities right across the district. Another splendid bug hotel is located at The Old School Field in Shepreth complete with its very own clocktower!

Have you spotted or built a bug hotel? Perhaps you have one at school, work or in your own garden?

Get in touch — we’d love to see your photos!
